As was announced on August 19th, 2008, the Japanese band known as Versailles and represented by Delacroix, had to change their name for the U.S. Territory as there was already a U.S. artist working under this name.  Although a difficult decision we have decided to comply with this request.

Deciding on a new name is a difficult process.  We asked our dedicated fans to assist us in this process.  We received over 100,000 suggested names by the end of August. We would like to thank everyone who suggested a name.

New USA Name: Versailles –Philharmonic Quintet-

The expanded name’s specific meaning; Philharmonic means, lover of harmony and symphonic music.  Quintet means, a group of five musicians.

This name is for the use in the U.S. territory, and will be used in the upcoming shows in Washington D.C. and New York in October 2008. Thank you very much for all of the suggested names. The number of submissions was more then we could have possibly imagined.  We were truly impressed by each suggested name and every message. It was deeply touching.  Among numerous suggestions two words stood out –“philharmonic” and “quintet”   We like think that our “quintet” will be very “philharmonic” when we are with our fans.

We are excited and looking forward to being with you, our fans from all over the world, as “Versailles – Philharmonic Quintet-“   In a small gesture of our appreciation, we would like to give you our new track “PRINCE”, which is available as a download here. It is the least we can do for you.
