SCREW is a great young band that has been gaining large popularity in the scene. They are known for their heavy sound and energetic, interesting stage shows. They performed under the concept of the darkness that everybody has deep inside them. They named their band SCREW in an attempt to grasp and stab the listeners’ hearts like a screw into something solid. They chose a simple and easy word that everyone could remember.

In March 2006, SCREW was formed by vocalist Byo and bassist Yuto, who were both members of JOKER. They were soon joined by guitarist kazuki of Clover, and Jin from LiViNg DEAD. They started off playing secret lives and their first one-man concert was held at Takadanobaba AREA on April 23. Their first mini-album, Nanairo no Reienka, was released in July that same year and it was limited to 2000 copies. Several concerts were held and three maxi-singles were released later in the year, and to finish off 2006 they were invited to be a part of the Winter Romantic Fes.3days「X-day」 event organized by Kanoma (ex-Fatima) and KAMIJO (Versailles). 2007 began with more concerts and in March they released a full length album which they called Fusion of the core. Shortly after its release, the band kicked off their one-man tour, LIMITED FUSION. By May, change came to SCREW as the band left Speed Disk Records and signed onto indie PSC and their support guitarist, Manabu transitioned to an official member of the band. SCREW continued their hefty touring schedule through the summer, with several dates monthly. The fall was greeted with the release of two mini-albums, VENOM and VIRUS, which were released a month apart. In December, the band wrapped up the end of the year with their first overseas event in Germany.

2008 brought a steady stream of activity for SCREW who began to tour again during the second week of January and released a new maxi-single the following month. In April, the band celebrated their two year anniversary, holding a one-man at the venue of their birth, Takandanobaba AREA. The rest of the year remained just as busy with two more singles hitting store shelves and a steady live schedule.

On April 26, SCREW elebrated their third anniversary at Liquid Room Ebisu. In August 2009 SCREW signed to the European Label CLJ Records and the full album “X-RAYS” will be released in September both in Japan and Europe. October awaits the fans with a SCREW Oneman LIVE at the Tsukicon in Helsinki. We look forward to see what SCREW will be doing next!
